Fisch Asset Management, the Zurich-based asset manager specialising in convertible bond, corporate bond and absolute return strategies, is expanding its emerging markets corporates team by strengthening its portfolio management expertise with three new hires. The appointments form part of Fisch’s ongoing growth strategy and will strengthen the business’ investment capabilities across the asset class.
The decision to welcome three new portfolio managers within the emerging markets corporates team underscores Fisch’s long-term strategic commitment to this asset class. Each of the new hires bring with them several years of experience and expertise, which will be invaluable to driving the asset class and wider business forward.
Thomas Rutz, who joined Fisch on 1st November, has assumed the role of Co-Head of Emerging Markets alongside Meno Stroemer. Thomas, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in emerging markets, previously headed up the emerging markets corporates team at MainFirst Asset Management, a role he held from 2012. He was also CEO of MainFirst Affiliated Fund Managers (Switzerland) AG. Prior to this, he was head of the emerging markets division at Clariden Leu. Thomas holds an MBA in Financial Services & Insurance (MBA-FSI) from the University of St. Gallen.
Dimitris Nteventzis joined Fisch on 1st September as a portfolio manager on the emerging markets team. Before joining Fisch, he was a portfolio manager on the emerging markets team at MainFirst, having initially joined the business as a portfolio analyst in 2017. Dimitris started his is career as a research analyst on the EEMEA Cross Asset Strategy & Economics desk at Merrill Lynch in London. He has a Master’s in Banking & Finance and a Ph.D. in Economics & Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Tanja Kusterer also joined Fisch as a portfolio manager on the emerging markets team on 15th September. She is a CFA charterholder and has a Master’s in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen, which she gained prior to joining the Corporate Business Development team at Bank Vontobel in 2015. From there she joined the emerging markets team at MainFirst in 2020, where she worked until joining Fisch earlier this year.
